When organizations exceed a certain number of people, the main problems go from being technological to sociological in nature. It is not only about scalability, resilience, or availability. Concerns such as cross-team dependencies, need for alignment, or meeting overload are all sociological stress catalysts that must be incorporated in the architecture design process.
In this talk we will explore how choosing the right architectural abstraction and an API-centric strategy can pave the way to a self-service platform in which team autonomy is reinforced, unnecessary dependencies are removed, and accountability is clearly stated.
